Frequently asked questions

Is Clerkship Tracker free?

Yes, completely free, with no paywall and no premium tier. The alternatives either charge you, lock the tracker behind a newsletter subscription, or sell you a template you set up yourself.

Do I need to sign up or create an account?

No. You can browse every firm and track the ones you're applying to straight away, in your browser, with no email address and no account. Creating a free profile is optional, it only adds personalised state filtering and email alerts.

How is this different from a Notion template or a newsletter tracker?

It's a live, interactive tool, not a template you copy or a PDF you download. Nothing to set up, no Notion account, no subscription: open the page and start tracking. The firm lists and key dates are maintained centrally so they stay current.

Which states and firms does it cover?

71 signatory and participating firms across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory, with official open, close and offer dates for each state's 2026 clerkship cycle.

When do 2026 clerkship applications open and close?

Dates vary by state and firm. NSW applications generally open earliest (early–mid June); Victoria, Queensland and the other schemes open through July, with offers released from September to October. Select your state above to see the exact open, close and offer dates.

Where do the clerkship dates come from?

Key dates are taken from the official law-society and clerkship-scheme sources for each state (such as the LIV, the Law Society of NSW and the QLS) and re-checked regularly. The date they were last verified is shown in the footer.
